A Quick Tip

Maybe everyone does this and I'm just late to the party, but I thought I'd share something that I do when baking. When whipping up a cake (I almost always use a cake mix but I'm crazy like that lol), of course I use the same measuring cup for the water and oil.

But I also use it for one more thing. Instead of breaking out a separate bowl for cracking the eggs in (you know, to check them for impurities before dumping them into the batter) I just crack them into the measuring cup (after I do the water and oil) and dump them in from there. I'm all for using even one less dish! What simple but useful kitchen tip(s) do you have?

  1. I have been totally slacking when it comes to reading blogs! Seeing this reminded me of something that I want to try, though. In one of my groups on CM somebody posted that they keep their candy melts in empty frosting containers. She said they are the perfect shape for dipping and when she's done she just covers the candy with saran wrap (after it has hardened a bit) and puts the lid back on and there's nothing to clean. And when she's ready to use them again she just pops the container in the microwave and melts them. I'm going to start saving my empty frosting containers and try it out. :)
